FIAMM AM80SX Trumpet Horn Pair – Hi/Low Tone 12V
Two FIAMM AM80SX trumpet horns — high tone (495Hz) and low tone (405Hz) — sold as a pair. Italian-made, 110dB, bracket mount, and a significant upgrade over the thin single-note disc horn fitted to most factory vehicles. FIAMM has been manufacturing acoustic signalling devices in Italy since 1942. The AM80SX is their most widely used trumpet horn in the aftermarket — a known, proven unit used as OEM equipment on commercial vehicles worldwide.

Why a Hi/Low Pair

A single horn produces a single frequency — adequate for road legal compliance but thin and easy to miss in traffic noise. A matched hi/low pair produces a chord — two complementary frequencies that cut through background noise more effectively than either tone alone. The 495Hz/405Hz combination of the AM80SX pair is a widely recognised, authoritative sound that reads as a genuine warning rather than a faint pip.

110dB Output

At 110dB measured at 2 metres, the AM80SX pair is substantially louder than most factory horns which typically measure 90–100dB. That 10–20dB difference is significant — each 10dB increase represents roughly double the perceived loudness.

Wiring Note

This listing is for two horns only — no relay wiring harness included. For most installations, adding a relay harness is strongly recommended. Factory horn circuits are typically rated for low-current disc horns — running higher-current trumpet horns through factory wiring can cause voltage drop, blown fuses, or damaged switch contacts. Installation

Bracket mount — bolt to body, chassis, or inner guard using the supplied bracket. Standard 2-terminal spade connection. Replace the factory horn connector or wire directly. One horn per terminal — both horns sound simultaneously when the horn circuit is activated.
