Description
Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series Front Radiator Insect Mesh Net
The Land Cruiser 70 Series is a working vehicle — farms, stations, forestry blocks, and back-country roads where insect populations are dense and radiator clogging is a real operational problem. A radiator packed with bugs and chaff can’t cool the engine efficiently. In summer, in traffic, or under tow load, that becomes an overheating problem. The A/C condenser in front of the radiator is equally vulnerable — clogged condenser fins reduce A/C performance significantly before the engine temperature even climbs.
This mesh net is cut and shaped specifically for the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series front grille opening. It fits behind the factory grille bars, blocking the gaps through which insects, seeds, grass seeds, moths, and fine road debris pass directly into the radiator and condenser fins. The black mesh colour blends with the factory grille and is barely visible when installed.
Fitment
Designed for the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series — including the 76 Series wagon, 78 Series Troop Carrier, and 79 Series single cab and double cab on the current GDJ/VDJ platform. Confirm your specific variant’s grille opening dimensions match before ordering — contact us if you have an earlier 70 Series or a non-standard front end.
Mesh Specification
Material: UV-resistant black polyethylene mesh
Mesh aperture: Fine enough to block insects and seeds while maintaining adequate airflow to the radiator
Flexibility: Conforms to curved grille surfaces without cracking or deforming
Cleaning: Rinse with a hose or blow out with compressed air — no removal required for routine cleaning
Installation
No tools required. Trim to fit if needed, then secure with zip ties through the mesh and around the factory grille bars. Takes under 15 minutes. Fully reversible — remove the zip ties and the mesh comes away cleanly.
NZ Note
Particularly useful on NZ South Island high country and Northland farming properties where summer moth and insect numbers are high, and on vehicles used in forestry or scrub clearance where seed and chaff build-up is a seasonal maintenance issue.
