What is flyscreen restringing?

RV and motorhome flyscreens use an elastic bungee cord threaded through the frame to hold the mesh under tension. Over time this cord stretches, perishes, or snaps — causing the mesh to sag, fall out of the frame, or no longer seal properly against insects. Restringing replaces the worn cord with new cord, restoring the screen to full tension and function.

This is a restring service only — we replace the cord that holds your existing mesh in the frame. If your mesh itself is torn or damaged and needs replacing, contact us before booking so we can advise on mesh replacement options.

We are based in Auckland and travel across the Auckland region. Your motorhome or caravan stays exactly where it is — at your home, holiday park, storage yard, or campsite. No towing, no workshop drop-off, no waiting.

Outstation fee applies for locations outside central Auckland — North Shore, West Auckland, beyond Pukekohe, and surrounding areas. From $50 depending on distance. Confirm your location when booking.

We recommend keeping the day available when you book. All work is completed on-site at your location in a single visit.

Do I need to remove the screen first? No — our technician handles the removal, restringing, and refitting on-site. You don’t need to do anything beforehand.

What if the mesh is also damaged? This service covers restringing only — replacing the elastic cord that holds the mesh in the frame. If your mesh is torn or has holes, contact us before booking and we can discuss mesh replacement options.
